Restorative Care & Extraction

Children are not just small adults. They are not always able to be patient and cooperative during a dental exam. At DP Dental, we understand that.

That's why we have an in-house Oral Hygiene Therapist, Ms. Faye Fu Xiao, who is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. Ms. Faye has not only been trained in the field of dentistry, but has also had broad exposure and experience in dealing specifically with children up to 18 years of age. This experience gives our Oral Hygiene Therapist a wide range of skills in behaviour management, allowing for the examination and treatment of children's mouths.

Restorative Filling

Baby teeth are important space markers for adult teeth. If they are extracted or fall out prematuredly, it may result in crowded or croaked adult teeth. Therefore, our doctors and Oral Hygiene Therapist strongly advise parents to bring their children in for early preventive care.

Bear in mind that tooth decay is an infection; it is important to fill the cavity in the baby tooth to prevent the spread of the infection, keep a healthy pathway for the adult tooth beneath to grow in, and ensure normal speech and proper chewing/nutrition for the child.

Our Oral Hygiene Therapist (OHT) will clean out the infectious decay, disinfect the cavity, and seal up with tooth-colored restorative materials. Most fillings can be done without numbing the surrounding gum; in the case of a deeper decay, our OHT is experienced in giving the local anaesthetic in the kindest possible way.
